I have been pursuing my passion for sculpture lately.. I love creating my paintings in three dimension. A couple of these are clay in the beginning stages before firing. The last one of the girl standing is clay with plaster and wood glue. It is very quick to work with... I don't have to worrrrrry about the piece being in the kiln and exploding and I can finish with any paint or pigment and even collage or color pencil. YAY!
ok before I do on about my art I have to tell you I went on a 550 mile bike ride across Iowa in July. Georgia has nothing on the humidity in Iowa... but it was the most fun I had all summer, almost. I tell you about that later for now back to the art.
The first giraffe is blind folded and the second giraffe is following/trusting with her heart on a necklace, exposed ... ever been there? Why is it that we don't trust ourselves sometimes and will go along with anyone who acts like they know what they are doing?

I just realized I last posted exactly this day one year ago... weird. I am hoping to attempt to start blogging again, although my last attempt was pretty weak. For now I am updating my blog with images that are not on my web site. Let me know what you think.
This is the first painting in a series that I have been thinking about for awhile...
This painting is "the wish". A kitty girl who wishes for things that are out of the realm of her reality, or are they?
It is acrylic on a panel with resin. This piece is small but I am working up to larger images which I will post soon...

Thank you to all came out to the Crested Butte Arts Festival. It was super fun even in the rain.
My next show opens in Lafayette, CO at Uniquely Natural on Fri August 20th from 5-8. This open coincides with the towns Art Night Out as well as the Peach Festival. I will be the featured artist through September. Next, off to San Francisco for ArtSpan Open Studios, Oct 8th and 9th. This should be a really fun weekend with lots of artists opening their studios. This occurs each weekend the month of October in rotating neighborhoods. Go to www.artspan.com for more deets. You can also see more of my work on their website. Summer is winding down here in Steamboat at Perry-Mansfield... all the ponies went home and soon my time to leave will come as well.
